We are growing rapidly and seeking a qualified, talented, hands-on individual who is interested in working outside of a traditional CPA firm to join our organization in our Vero Beach headquarters in the position of Tax Accountant.

The Tax Accountant is an experienced tax accountant who assumes ownership of a wide range of tax compliance responsibilities. The applicant should have strong foundational skills in the U.S. federal taxation of partnerships and s-corporations, as well as be a self-starter: motivated to complete tasks, research technical issues, and seek assistance from peers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team environment to ensure accurate and timely completion of all Federal, State, and local tax filings
  • Gather and analyze accounting data for appropriate tax treatment
  • Prepare quarterly estimated income tax payments
  • Research technical tax issues and compose memorandums to document analysis

Qualified candidates have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor/Master’s degree in accounting, finance or taxation
  • CPA or EA required
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience preparing/reviewing Individual (1040), Partnership, and Corporate tax returns (1120, 1120s, 1065) and Estate and Trust
  • Experience in analyzing complex tax accounting, compliance issues, financial and income tax statements
  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets, tax preparation (Ultra Tax) and accounting (QuickBooks) software, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including effectively presenting information while working with clients and/or colleagues
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • Developed skills in self-management and prioritization
  • Strong tax research study and strong interpretation of tax laws
  • Excellent problem solving, organizational, and communication skills
  • Very detail oriented and able to function in a fast-paced environment
